Southeast Saga is a regenerative design company focusing on crafts preservation and upcycling. Based in Bali, Indonesia, the weaving traditions and techniques of the region are at the core of the designs, innovatively sampled with upcycled denim and discarded tent canvas.
Southeast Saga’s signature product is the Reborn Kimono. Designed with the mantra ‘Rejected by the previous owner, rescued and reborn by Southeast Saga’ in mind, these unique one-of-a-kind unisex pieces are an ode to the beauty of imperfection and longterm usage. They are infused with time and stories of their journey from rejection to rebirth and made to be molded by time and wear.
Southeast Saga is founded by me, Kristine. I am a design and anti-trend enthusiast from Copenhagen, Denmark and the author of several books on sustainability and aesthetics. Based in Bali, I am passionately dedicated to empowering the amazing artisans of the region and turning discarded textiles into wearable art.
